The Human-Technical-Environmental systems framework as used in the book Mercury Stories can be applied to a wide range of different sustainability issues. Here, we illustrate this application with the case of irrigation and agriculture in the Indus basin of Pakistan.
The case consists of a briefing memo (which follows the format introduced in the memo here), and a teaching package that includes a 20-minute recorded lecture which could be used to introduce further in-class discussion.
The irrigation and agriculture case was put together by Afreen Siddiqi (MIT).
